Description |
Shrubs, 1-3m tall. Twigs with yellow brown and multicellular glandular hairs. Single leaves opposite; subsessile; blades obovate or obovate-elliptic, 10-20cm long, 3-10cm wide, apex caudate-pointed or acuminate, base heart-shaped, nearly ear-shaped or skewed, margin with fine serrations, surface slightly with multicellular single hairs, back side with stellate hairs, single hairs, glandular hairs and yellow glandular dots; lateral veins 6-10 pairs. Cymes axillary, 2-4cm wide, with same hairs as twigs; peduncles 2-3cm long; bracts small, ovate; calyx cup-shaped, calyx teeth not prominent or obtuse-triangular, with stellate hairs or glandular hairs and yellow glandular dots; corolla purple red, yellow green or white, about 3mm long, apex 4 lobed, lobes obtuse-round, with glandular hairs and yellow glandular dots; stamens 4, twice as long as corolla; ovary hairy. Fruits purple red, about 2mm in diameter. Flowering: May to July, fruiting: July to November. |
