Description |
Aromatic perennial herb. Leaves xiphoid-linear, 30-50cm long, 2-6cm wide no midvein. Leafy spathe 7-20cm, narrow cylindrical spadix 5-12cm; Hermaphrodite flowers, pale yellow; 6 tepals; 6 stamens. Obovate berry. Flowering: May to July. Fruiting: August. |

Distribution |
Growing in ravines, between wet rocks of streams, or near springs. Distributed in Yangtze River basin and the South of Yangtze River. The medicinal materials are mainly produced in Sichuan, Zhejiang and Jiangsu. |

Indications & Usage |
Epilepsy, phlegm syncope, fever and coma, chronic absentmindedness, deafness due to qi stagnation, discomfort of heart and chest, gastralgia, stomachache, anemofrigid-damp arthralgia, superficial infections, toxic swelling, injuries from falls.Oral administration: decocting, 5-10g (fresh product 15-40g); or made as pills or powders. External application: decocted for washing, or applied in powdered form. |
