Description |
Annual herb, 50-150cm high. Stem upright and strong, with longitudinal fine strip like ridges, branches spreading upward. Leaf opposite, lamina pinnatifid, 5-10cm long, 4-8cm wide, lobe long elliptic or lanceolate, margin with sharp sawtooth, leaf lobe in upper part with long and thin arista on the end. Capitulum, 5-8cm in diameter, solitary, apex of peduncle clavately expanding; periclinium 1.8-2cm long, 1-1.5cm wide, cup shaped, anteriorly with teeth tine; ligulate flower, yellow or dark orange, 2.9cm long, ligule invert ovate, basal part contracted into a long claw; corolla of tubular flower yellow, about 9mm long, anteriorly with 5 dentate lobes. Achene, linear, basal part reduced, black or brown, 8-11mm long; pappus with 1-2 long aristas or 2-3 short and blunt scales. Flowering: July to September. |

Indications & Usage |
Upper respiratory infection, whooping cough, conjunctivitis, stomatitis, toothache, pharyngitis, vertigo, infantile frightened epilepsy, menostasia, abdominal pain due to blood stasis, anthracia and swelling toxicity.Oral administration: decocting, 3-9g. External application: appropriate amount, prepared decoction for fumigating and washing or powdered for application, or triturated for application. |
