Description |
Annual herb, 5-30cm high. Stem slightly light purple, generally branched from basal part, slim, upright or obliquely ascending, with procumbent thin hairs. Simple leaf alternate; leaf of lower part sessile, leaf of upper part with short stipe or long stipe; lamina spathulate, elliptic, or long circular, 2-5cm long, 5-20mm wide, tip round blunt or sharp, basal part broad wedge shaped or gradually narrowed, both sides strigose. Cyme arranged in raceme; basidixed, curled before maturity, gradually extended later, 5-20cm long, flower small, generally grown on the back of inflorescence; leafy bractlet 2-3; peduncle short, flower back edge 3-5mm long; calyx 1-2.5mm long, 5 lobed, lobe invert ovate, flattened laryngeal part with 5 pieces of white or yellowish attachment; corolla tube equal to corolla lobe in length; stamens 5, hidden inside, grown in the upper part of corolla tube, not stretching out of corolla; pistil 1, ovary 4 deeply lobed, style basal, stigma head shaped. nutlet 4, obliquely triquetrous, pyramidal, tertrahedroid, 0.8-1mm long, black and glossy, with thin hairs on the surface, with short stipe, with 3 sharp ridges on the back. Flowering: April to June; fruiting: July to September. |
