Description |
Sporocarp purely white, colloidal, semi-transparent, 5-10cm in diameter, consisting of many broad and thin limbs. Soft when fresh, shrunk when dry. In both sides of the sporocarp, covered with a sporiferous layer, consisting of numerous basidiums. Basidium nearly spherical, longitudinally separated, (10-13) microns x (9-10) microns. Tenuous spores grown on the basidium, colorless, smooth, nearly spherical, (6-8.5) microns x (4-7) microns. |

Distribution |
Growing on rotten wood of oak or other broadleaved trees. Distributed in Southwest China, Shaanxi, Jiangsu, Anhui, Zhejiang, Jiangxi, Fujian, Taiwan, Hubei, Guangdong, Hainan, Guangxi and etc. The medicinal materials are mainly produced in Sichuan, Guizhou, Yunnan, Fujian, Hubei, Anhui, Zhejiang, Guangxi, Shaanxi and Taiwan. |

Indications & Usage |
Used for deficiency and visceral over-strained cough, bloody sputum, hydrodipsia due to damage of body fluid, weakness after diseases, shortness of breath and debilitation.Oral administration: decocting, 3-10g; or stewed with crystal sugar, or meat. |

Examples |
1. Impairment of body fluid due to pyrexic diseases, thirst sense to induce drinking desire: white tremella 10g, reed root 15g, dendrobium loddigesii rolfe 10g. Decoct in water, pick out white tremella, filter drug residues, drink the soup, and eat white tremella, 1 dose a day.
2. Rradiotherapy against cancer, chemotherapy period: white tremella 12g, fiveleaf gynostemma 45g, radix codonopsitis, milkvetch 30g each. Decoct together in water, pick out white tremella, remove drug residues, add semen coicis, rice 30g each, cook porridge and eat 1 dose a day.
3. Primary hypertension: white tremella 10g, rice vinegar and water 10 ml each, egg 3 (cook and remove shell), decoct on a small fire, eat white tremella and egg. Eat 1 egg each day, drink soup and eat white tremella. |
