Description |
Liana or erect shrubs, up to 1.5m. Bark yellow-green, with black lumpy spots. Leaves alternate, papyraceous, upper leaves ovate, ovate-lanceolate or ovate-elliptic, 4-9cm long, apex acute, lower leaves ovate, 11cm long, apex obtuse or round, less short and acuminate, base round, rare cordate, glabrous above, below chestnut after drying, glabrous or sparsely pubescent along base of vein, lateral veins 9-12 pairs, margin entire; petioles 1-2(-5.2)cm long, stipules narrow, lanceolate, persistent. Flowers bisexual, pink-green, usually a number of flowers clustered into acrogenous wide thyrse or axillary, inflorescence up to 1.5cm, inflorescence rachis glabrous or sparsely micro-hair; peduncle 1-2mm long; calyx triangular; petals 5, obovoid, stamens 5, length nearly the same as petal; ovary hiding in flower disc, style 2 parted. Drupes cylindrical-elliptic, 0.7-1cm long, persistent flower disc discoidal, from green to purple-black; fruit stalk 2-3mm long, glabrous. Flowering: July to October, fruiting: April to July of the following year. |

External: appropriate amount, fresh used, triturated for application. |

1. Rheumatic arthralgia: supplejack root 60g, cortex acanthopanacis root and gambir-plant root 30g each, pig foot 1. Decoct in water and swallow. 2. Postpartum abdominalgia: duohua supplejack 30g, yellow wine 250 ml. After stewed, remove residues and add browns sugar, orally take 30g. 3.
