Wang Anyi (1954 - )
Born in March 1954 in a scholastic family in Nanjing, Wang Anyi grew up enjoying a good education and a rich literary atmosphere. During the Cultural Revolution, Wang read extensively. Wang's pieces were humorous yet profound, welcomed with enthusiasm by children and teachers alike.
